2014 availability calendar (schedule),

the following info is the most important information everyone needs to read. 

 

I have had this on my heart and mind for quite some time, a little over a year, almost two. It’s been something that I have talked to family and friends about, been praying about and waiting on… in hopes to get a clear picture of what is meant to be for my family and my business. As the time has gone by, things have been falling into place, making sense and confirmation followed.

To make a long story short, 2014 will be my last full year of offering my portrait services. All sessions will be completed by March 2015.

I am not quitting, but I am taking a break and transitioning over to something a little different, a program called Portrait Coterie. This program was made specifically for small handmade businesses that make children’s clothing and accessories. It will allow me to slow down a bit, spend more time with my family and yet still continue to produce quality portraits. I will be renewing all my licenses, insurance policies, etc.. I’ll still be in business, just doing something different. I will explain more about that towards the end of this.

So what does this all mean for you? First of all, at this time, I am only opening my 2014 schedule for the following sessions:

• Pregnancy
• Newborn
• Baby Plans
• Birthday (all ages)

If you are currently pregnant and due in March 2014 or later, please call NOW to schedule your pregnancy and/or newborn session.

Baby Plans: If you would like to start a 1^st Year Baby Plan, your baby must be 3 months old after February 1, 2014 and must turn ONE YEAR OLD before March 31, 2015, no exceptions.

OpLove Sessions: I will continue to be available for one OpLove session per month. I will only able to offer pre-deployment and post deployment (active member is already deployed). My schedule just does not allow me the flexibility needed with the [sometimes] sudden changes of dates & times associated with homecoming sessions.

For all other sessions: I will be opening the 2014 calendar in February.  I will open the schedule up for 2 months at a time, starting with March & April (January & February are currently full). eNewsletter subscribers will receive 1-week advance notice for priority scheduling. All sessions must have the minimum deposit paid when scheduling. Because of limited time and space, I must adhere firmly to my policies.

Mini Sessions: At this time, there will be no seasonal mini sessions offered throughout the year except for School Portrait Mini Sessions & Christmas Mini Sessions, which take place in the fall.

Gift Cards: All gift cards must be redeemed for sessions prior to March 1st, 2015. Gift Cards may be used for all services & products, including frames.

I mentioned above that all sessions would be completed by March 31, 2015. This is because I will be closing my doors to the general public on that day. At that time, my family may be preparing to move. We currently do not have orders, but we are contemplating retiring from the Navy as well. We may be starting a new adventure in the civilian world or moving to a new duty station. Either way, I do not want to take any chances.

Regardless of whether we move or stay here, I will no longer be accepting any more sessions after March 31, 2015. I will only be photographing Portrait Coterie models.  Portrait Coterie clients will be sending clothing & accessories throughout the year. So, I will be posting model calls monthly. Model sessions are free. The only requirement is a signed release within the Model Session Contract. Prints & products will be available to purchase, but there will be no obligation to buy.

I will continue to offer my Fresh Focus [Parent Workshop] through 2014. The next open workshop will be in the spring of 2014. In-person and one-on-one workshops are available starting in January. At this time, I do plan to continue to offer the workshops in 2015, it just depends on whether or not I am in the middle of preparation of moving.

Thank you to all of you who have made my business so successful the last 7 years. (It will be 8 in April). I have truly enjoyed working with all of you, watching your families grow and being a part of those special moments. I appreciate every one of you. I know this is not the end, but it’s still hard to have to close my doors. But a break is needed, especially with a possible move looming in the air.
