It’s been quiet over here… well, photography-wise, that is. I left on my vacation, got back and then the vacation continued. I left a hot, sunny California and came back to a hot, sunny Washington. Before I left, I had these mini sessions set up. But the date chosen called for rain and so I rescheduled them to August. I failed to realize that there were literally 3 different events on the weekend I chose to have these. Because of that along with the weather and summer vacations, we only had one participant. So it looks like I will definitely be going back to offering these in the spring like I have done in the past.
For the one adorable little girl we had, we traded a cool evening back in July for a day that hit 85 degrees in August. It was HOT. Luckily for us, it began to cool down a bit and there was a slight breeze as our session began. Little “I” was not fazed one bit. She was all smalls and giggles. She brought her best friend (the monkey) with her. I have photographed her multiple times when she was a toddler and that monkey was always there. It was so neat to see her bring it along for this session. We put her (the monkey) in a high chair right next to her and “I” enjoyed pouring her a drink and letting her take sips.
Because she was my only participant, we decided to get away from the set and head to a nearby barn and field for some more variety and fun. I am so glad we did that! I am definitely going to add on these extra spots for the spring sessions as well. Thank you to the Hummingbird Farm Nursery and Gardens for allowing us to use their garden and to Michelle at The Curly Girly Boutique for helping with set up and reflector work.
