Little “G” had no intention of sleeping throughout his entire session. But, to my surprise, he didn’t cry one bit. He was checking everything out. He was not acting like a 9 day old! He wanted to make sure he didn’t miss anything and he sure didn’t. But at the end, when we were all done and he was put into his car seat, he was sound to sleep within a few minutes. (That was about the only “normal” thing I expected him to do)
The last time I saw little “B’ was when she was just a tiny little newborn! She is now so grown up and such a doll! She wasn’t shy at all! She gave the most adorable expressions and sweetest smiles! She wasn’t as interested in her cake as we (mom, dad & I) had hoped, but she had a few bites and we were able to get those fun cake images! Thanks for coming to see me again “B”!

“M” was spunky & full of energy – not shy at all! We had great conversations about her little bunny, her little doggie (another stuffed animal she brought in) her pretty shoes & more. We had lots of fun bringing out different little props as well as letting her dance around a little bit. Thank you “M” for the great session!

As most of you know, I am a part of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA). I have been a full active member for a little over 4 years. The PPA is an awesome organization that not only helps me in continuing to learn my craft, but also is a big part of teaching me business management, laws, etiquette, marketing and more. Well, PPA has an awesome magazine, called “Professional Photographer”. This magazine cannot be bought on any store shelf. Because the PPA is a non-profit group, the magazine is distributed to it’s members only.
They have been holding annual Cover Contests and well, I never entered because of fear and lack of confidence. But, this year I decided to take the plunge and go for it. Granted, I am up against many other professionals, with years of experience & knowledge beyond me, but hey – why not try? If I get any feedback from them, it of course would help me get better and that’s what I am always striving for!
So, I had to choose one image that was representative of what I do. And BOY OH BOY! That was not easy. My specialty is children and that includes a lot of ages. So, I went back and forth, searching, thinking, wondering… and I found an image I think represents me. Most of my favorite images are in a horizontal format, which doesn’t meet requirements for a cover. So I guess I need to start taking more vertical images during sessions (note to self).

Another one of my favorite sessions – a 1st birthday! Little “A” was as comfy as could be in front of the camera! It was so tough to pick a few to show for this sneak peek! I have so many favorites! “A” had a blast taking turns with her brother & her Grandma & Aunt. She was a little shy at first when it came to the cake, but soon she dove in! And she kept teasing me by quickly coming towards me with outstretched fists of icing. (she wanted to share :)) Thanks Mom & Dad for staying on your toes in keeping me FREE of that sugary white stuff!
