6 Month Old “G”

Baby G is on our Inch By Inch Baby Plan. So, as scheduled she returned for her 6 month old session. She showed off her new skills of sitting up nice and tall all on her own, as well as rolling over and over and over. She was such a wiggle work when not sitting up so we had to be quick! She was much more social this time than her first session. I think she got over her shyness, because she was all smiles! Her personality really shined when the little grape hat was put on. She was such a joy! Can’t wait to see  you again in 3 more months!

Say YES to the Dress!

Or in this case, the pettiskirt! As soon as this little lady (“I”) walked in the door, she immediately asked for a dress. The last time she was here for a family session we had her in a pettiskirt as well, and she loved it. So, she was ready to get dressed up for her pictures. Once we finished up the family portraits, she checked out my box of skirts and wasn’t quite sure if she wanted to wear one. But it didn’t take her long to change her mind. She was then twirling, jumping & dancing! But unfortunately at the end, she did not want to take it off. She then was so sweet and asked if she could borrow it. We had to tell her “no” a gently as possible, but she was still a little upset. So I assured her that I would give her mommy all the information she needed so she could get one of her own. So mom… you better deliver! 😛 (Oh, and if “mom” looks familiar, she’s another fine hairstylist (and friend) at Salon Lux here in Oak Harbor)

Noah & Elliot Need Your Help

Meet Noah & Elliot.

These adorable brothers are both Autistic. Noah (the eldest, 4 yrs old) was diagnosed when he was 2 years old. Elliot, who was born right after Noah was diagnosed, was soon displaying familiar signs and was recently  diagnosed in February.

As you may already know, there is no cure for Autism. Both boys are in therapy, but still require additional care & treatment. Their parents have found a program that they can do in home to encourage and improve their skills. But as any program designed for such needs, before they can begin at home, their parents must go through in-person training so they can be properly taught and encouraged.

The Son-Rise Program where they will be receiving their training is in Massachusetts. And unfortunately, insurance does not cover Autism treatments. Their family and friends have been wonderful in creating events to raise funds. But they still need help. They need to raise $12,000 for materials, transportation, the initial course cost itself plus two additional advanced training sessions within the next 18 months.

So, I’m asking friends, family, clients & fellow photographers to make a small donation. Any amount helps. When you donate, please add a note to let them know that you learned about Noah & Elliot through my blog.  They will send me your name, which will then be entered into a drawing for a $100 gift card to Amazon.com.

To read more about Noah & Elliot, learn about Autism & the Son-Rise Program, please visit the boys’ website at http://www.noahandelliot.com. You may also keep up to date with their progress on Facebook by joining their group HERE.

Donation payment options are provided on their website page. A DONATE button is available right under the photo of the two boys on the left side or donate online right now by clicking HERE. Remember, no donation is too small. Do not forget to add a note letting them know that you read about the boys on RGP’s blog. You will be entered into the drawing which will take place on JUNE 30, 2011.

[Drawing is sponsored by Renee Giugliano Photography. Noah & Elliot’s family have agreed to sharing names of those individuals that only have the “RGP” note attached to their donation. Amazon.com & The Son-Rise Program are not affiliated with this drawing.]

alej keigan - it’s great of you to share this! it will be a challenging journey for sure, but hopefully one filled with so many blessings they wouldn’t have it any other way. 🙂

Welcome Baby Boy “L”

Isn’t he handsome?  His mommy first came to me for a pregnancy session with her 2nd child, little girl “T” who comes to visit me every three months while on her Inch By Inch – Baby’s 1st Year Plan. The eldest of the siblings (“E”) comes in every birthday as well as with her family for holiday portraits. So, now we have little “L”. It was so exciting to wait for his arrival, especially since mom was contracting during her pregnancy session. But he came right on time! And like his older sisters, he was perfect throughout this session. He slept wonderfully, giving us smiles along the way as we moved him here and there. He was so small that none of my new hats fit him well. Only two worked and those were still a little big. So, we’ll see more hat action at his 3 & 6 months sessions. 🙂  His sisters we great! “E” is especially in LOVE with her brother – so sweet to see her cuddling with him. My favorites are the “Daddy & Me” portraits – I could see that sparkle in dad’s eye with his “boy”. So wonderful!
