After serving Oak Harbor since 2006, I have closed my doors officially. I am still on Whidbey Island, but no longer offering photography services or learning classes on a regular basis. I am only offering Preschool Portraits for Ms. Ashley's Preschool in the spring.

Past clients may be able to purchase digital images from their past sessions if they are still available on my archive drives. Contact me for more info.

If you are a photographer inquiring about the possible purchase of my props and/or backdrops, many of my items are listed on Facebook Marketplace. Feel free to contact me for direct links or to inquire about anything you see in y portraits that you are interested in to see if they are available.

Thank you for trusting me with your family portraits since 2006. I loved working with you all.

Awaiting His Arrival

This cute family is waiting for a little boy to make his arrival soon. Big sister “L” is soooooo excited and she is already protective of him, even while he’s still in mommy’s tummy. She’s going to be a great big sister and awesome helper! Little “L” was tickled with joy to match her mommy with a few of my LittleMama gowns. (She is in the ivory gown here, you can see her in the black gown on the facebook biz page) She did want to take them home, but was very understanding about it once it was replaced with a lollipop. 🙂 We had lots of fun, so much personality in this family – can’t wait to see what this new little guy will add to it! Congratulations again!

Baby Boy Coming Soon :)

Recently I took about 2 weeks off to take time to enjoy my family while my husband took leave (we’re a military family). But I did make on exception and set up the lights & backdrops so that I could give the gift of a pregnancy session to a friend. I’m so glad she accepted! I absolutely fell in love with every image I took! She was glowing and gorgeous! She brought in a few outfits as well as modeled a few of my gowns. She even brought in this worn but cute little puppy dog (2nd image). As she explained it’s significance, I made sure to do quite a few poses with the little guy. If I remember the story correctly, this puppy dog was given to her husband when he was just a baby. You could tell by the many stitches that it’s very special. Her husband had to work on the day of her session and had no idea she had brought it with her. So, SURPRISE Daddy! 🙂

Another Beautiful Baby!

Baby girl “M” came in for her portrait debut at 10 days old. She was pretty much perfect throughout the session. She slept so peacefully. Her older sister was so excited to have her, that asking her to snuggle up with little “M” was something she looked forward to! Once again, this little baby was so small that she barely fit into any of my hats, so we’ll have to save those for when she’s a little older. Congratulations again to all of you! Can’t wait to see her again!

You’re Gonna LOVE Float Wraps!

You’ve see it listed in my product guide and when you had your session, you may have seen one in my living room. But I keep forgetting to add more information on these. I have mentioned it to a few clients who wanted a different option from a Canvas Gallery Wrap. But to the rest of you, I am very sorry for this lack of information. So, here is some info on Float Wraps.

Float Wraps are similar to Canvas Gallery Wraps in that they add dimension by extending out from the wall. What makes them so unique is that they appear to be floating!

They are created by wrapping the photographic print around masonite to create a thin wrap. The print is protected with a laminate and padding is added between the print and the masonite to give the front of the Float Wrap a raised, elegant look and feel. The back of the Float Wrap is complete with black paper backing and a black ¾” thick gatorboard block that allows the Float Wrap to extend out from the wall. The back of the block also contains drilled holes for hanging. They too are ready to hang once removed from the box.

Float Wraps are a great option if you want something more than a print & frame, but less than a Canvas Gallery Wrap! I have samples of every product I offer, so don’t be shy! Be sure to ask about seeing samples. Collage displays using these Float Wraps will make all your guest say “WOW”!

Melissa Rieke - Great post!
