Past clients may be able to purchase digital images from their past sessions if they are still available on my archive drives. Contact me for more info.

If you are a photographer inquiring about the possible purchase of my props and/or backdrops, many of my items are listed on Facebook Marketplace. Feel free to contact me for direct links or to inquire about anything you see in y portraits that you are interested in to see if they are available.

Thank you for trusting me with your family portraits since 2006. I loved working with you all.

Gorgeous Little Guy

This session was tough… not because of the baby, but because of ME. Yes, ME! 🙁

As mentioned previously, May was a month in which I was sick throughout most of it. At one point, I thought I was feeling better and decided to do this session. About 45 minutes into the session, everything got extra hot, my legs & arms got heavy (I was standing on a ladder) I began to shake and almost passed out. I had to get air, water and a 5 minute break. I sat on the floor with my head on my knees and eyes closed. Although my head was spinning & I was nauseous, I felt especially frustrated and VERY embarrassed at what seemed to be a failed attempt at this newborn session. Luckily, I had worked with this wonderful couple before and so it was a small relief to me to know that they knew this was NOT normal. After a few minutes of rest, I decided to continue on.

I ended up needing another week and a half to recover. It has been tough for me to really accept that what happened was “okay” because I honestly felt I was going to be fine. I feel that “I’m sorry” is not enough for this family, for the worry I have caused them during the session and not being at 100%. But I knew how important it was to them to capture portraits of the Grandma’s with this little guy. THANK YOU so much for your patience with me and at the same time, again, I’m so SORRY for that scary moment.

The Curly Girly Boutique CUTIE Model Search

Back in April, I shared a post about The Curly Girly Boutique, who they are and how we work together. I also shared about their Model Search to find a CUTIE to represent their clothing line. The boutique provided clothing/accessories to 21 kids for mini sessions with me this past weekend. The two days of sessions went by smoothly and were so much fun! The kids all received goodie bags filled with discounts/freebies from local businesses, little toys & candies – I’m sure that was their favorite part!

Now, it’s time to start voting. These images were chosen by me, but the winners are chosen by you – the public. Please click on each of the boxes below to vote! The polls will only be available for a few days (expire on June 8th at midnight), so don’t delay! Once these polls close, a final poll with the top boy & top girl will be provided to choose the Grand Prize Winner & Runner Up! (I will add that poll here when it’s ready)

Here are all the kids who joined in on the fun! A few of them went home in the outfits they were wearing. Yep – they purchased them there at the session and were taken home. All these outfits are available to purchase – please visit the boutique’s website and/or Facebook page to send them a message today. They offer all their products in various sizes & styles and will do custom orders if you have something special in mind.

THANK YOU to all the moms, dads, sponsors & supporters of these fun little event! Be sure to drop by The Curly Girly Boutique’s Facebook page, LIKE their page and leave them a review in their recommendation box. If you would like to do the same for me, click HERE to visit my Facebook page.

Note: There are only 19 images here, since 2 of the kids didn’t qualify for the model search. One was my daughter & the other was the boutique owner’s daughter. To see my daughter’s image, click HERE. To see the boutique’s daughter’s image, click HERE.

Family Fun!

The month of May blew by quickly. I have been recovering from illness for most of it. As I feel better, I am trying to catch up on proof editing. I am the only one that works on my proofs, I don’t outsource any of my work. So, it’s taking me much longer than my normal 2 week turn around. I am taking it slow, and really hate it! I want to get things done and it’s been tough to sit around to “rest”. I pushed myself too hard in April and when I got this odd strain of a flu, it hit me hard. Thank you to all my wonderful clients who have been so patient during this month while I kept going back and forth from feeling well to being knocked down again.

This family was pure joy to work with. Daddy happens to work alongside my husband, so it was fun to get to joke around and share some little silly tidbits about the Chief he works for. 🙂 The kids did great! It’s always tough to get siblings to want to sit next to each other at this age. Either the love each other or want nothing to do with each other. (That’s the phase my two younger kids are in) But as always, a little bit of patience and bribery made all the difference!

Beautiful Baby Boy

I’ve been down and out due to the flu this past week. Two of my kids & I had it and each of us were affected differently. It seemed to hit me the hardest, leaving me no other option but to sleep as much as I could. So, my computer stayed off and I rested.

Unfortunately, my resting period halted all work. I was already falling a little behind due to our town’s annual Holland Happening celebration (I had a booth). So, now I feel a great deal of pressure on myself to get caught up ASAP. Today was my first day back to work and I am so happy that I was able to finish a few things on my list.

First, a sneak peek of this gorgeous little guy. Isn’t he just precious? He didn’t sleep at all until about the last 20 minutes of the session. And even then, it was quite light. Thank you mom and dad for your patience as I have gone through the ringer of illness and am catching up. Not sure if you saw it, but on Mother’s Day, I posted another image HERE on my Facebook page.

Sugar & Spice…

Three little girls… and even though two may look alike, they were all so different. The sweet twins were a challenge for me. Those big gorgeous eyes just looked at me like I was the oddest person they had ever seen. My little tricks may have got them looking at me, but my silly faces didn’t get them smiling. Mom & dad knew all the tricks, but as one would smile, the other had a questionable stare or was fiddling with their own or the other’s foot or hair. It was quite entertaining. All this while their older sister watched us as patiently as she could as we continued with the noises and the faces. She probably thought we were silly too. But after all was said & done, they all did wonderful. Thank you so much for choosing me! I had so much fun and hope to work with you again in the future! 🙂

The outfits in the last image was provided by The Curly Girly Boutique.

Bethany Ester-Julien - Lol so cute how the twins are so serious
