A Different Kind of Newborn, A Puppy

A very good friend of mine just got herself a new puppy. She drove from Oak Harbor, WA to Hayden Lake, Idaho – about 6 hours away to pick up this sweet little guy from a breeder (Bernese of Moose Crossing). I jokingly suggested we do some “puppy pics” and then quickly realized that I really wanted to do them! So, she brought him in 2 days after they got home. He is 7 weeks old and was so fluffy and soft! He was quite shy at first, somewhat like a toddler. Soon he began to do as most children do, run away. He wasn’t too sure about this whole “photo” thing. A while later, became very sleepy and so we turned down the lights and sure enough, he fell right to sleep. And with that, his mama was able to move him from prop to prop, moving his arms and legs as needed. Such a cutie! And I really enjoyed this session! First Session of 2013 – Newborn Baby Boy

We waited anxiously for this little guy. Originally, mom thought he would come right around Christmas. But, he took his time and made his arrival on December 30th. So, he came in yesterday, at 5 days old and made his portrait debut. He was full of smiles! I’m not kidding, he was grinning through out the session. He opened his eyes every now and then to check out his surroundings and give us the look of “what are we doing now?”. Then he went back to sleep. He didn’t really like to be unclothed, so we keep kept him snuggled up and warm. CONGRATS to the “H” family on their newest addition. This is baby #4 for them! So darling! I was going to post one on my Facebook page, but mommy wanted to wait for a full sneak peek. So, here are just a few from his session.

Last Newborn Session of 2012

My normal routine for the holidays is to close in min-November and not take in any sessions until January. Well, I changed that this past season and accepted a limited amount of sessions, four sessions to be exact. And this little sweetheart was my 2nd session in December. She was about 8 days old when she came in. She was fast asleep for a while and then would take a peek at us while we repositioned. She was such a doll. Last Pregnancy [Maternity] Session of 2012

This session was done in the beginning of December. Mommy was due right before Christmas, so I am sure she has her little guy in her arms already. This is their first baby and so I am sure they are so overjoyed for such a gift during the holiday season! Mom was glowing and she was so tiny, as you can see. Although she was not one to brag, I am in awe of how she didn’t have to buy any maternity clothing at all. She was still in her regular pre-pregnancy jeans and able to button and zip without any problem! (I’m a little jealous of that 😉 ) Thank you for your patience as I went through illnesses and holidays. I always get a little set back because of the holidays, but getting sick pushed me back further. I was able to get out two extra images out earlier in the month on my Facebook page though.
