    After serving Oak Harbor since 2006, I have closed my doors officially. I am still on Whidbey Island, but no longer offering photography services or learning classes on a regular basis. I am only offering Preschool Portraits for Ms. Ashley's Preschool in the spring.

    Past clients may be able to purchase digital images from their past sessions if they are still available on my archive drives. Contact me for more info.

    If you are a photographer inquiring about the possible purchase of my props and/or backdrops, many of my items are listed on Facebook Marketplace. Feel free to contact me for direct links or to inquire about anything you see in y portraits that you are interested in to see if they are available.

Sand, Sea, Mommy and Me – 1st Birthday Celebration

Mommy wanted to do something a little different for baby R’s first birthday portraits. Instead of a studio setting with cake, we went outside and played! Little R’s new found freedom in walking kept her moving and grooving. She was quite the wiggle worm. She wanted to explore, to touch, to run! She had to no interest in sitting, which kept us all on the go!

We started on a small trail here in Oak Harbor and then headed to over to City Beach to let her play and just enjoy the sand and the water. Baby R was fascinated with the rocks and pebbles. We had to keep a close eye on her to make sure she wasn’t eating them. And then when she got to the water, it was all about playing with the seaweed. She was quite shy with her smiles, but every now and then she would give a big adorable grin. But I love those serious pouts so much as well. They give you a chance to gaze into her eyes and connect.

Fair Winds – Another Departing Family

The city of Oak Harbor, is a small military town. Everyday, you see and hear the sound of jets and prop planes flying over. We call it, “The Sound of Freedom”. And when the planes are not flying, we get to watch eagles and hawks glide over us. We brake for deer to cross the road and giggle as wild bunnies run to and fro through the streets and our yards. And although we do not have  huge malls, amusement parks or a handful of well-known restaurants, this is a beautiful part of the world.

But because we are military, we often have to pack up and move. And so it is with this precious family. They will be moving soon and so they wanted to capture a small part of the beauty our island offers. The last time we saw each other, their little guy was a newborn. Now he’s a spunky (almost) 2 year old old who loves his big sister! They are very close and didn’t fight one bit! They had lots of fun running and playing in between shots and we even caught a few of their fun & sweet moments you can see HERE and HERE. Thank you so much for choosing me for your last portraits here on Whidbey Island!

Availability Update for 2013

Strawberry Blooms

We have a waiting list for the remaining months of 2013.  Our schedule is completely full for the remainder of the year except for October (2 spots open), Because of this, minimum deposits are being required for all sessions scheduled from now through December.

Session deposit emails are going out for the months of August through December within the next few days. All payments are due within 5 days of receiving the email. Phone calls will be made after the 5th day to give 24 hour notice.

Here is what is currently available and/or upcoming:

Fresh Focus [Parent Workshop] – August 16 & 17

  • Fresh Focus is an in-person workshop that teaches parents how to take better pictures of their kids. It focuses on concepts you can easily put into practice, just by understanding lighting, composition, perspective and age appropriate techniques.
  • This class will NOT be offered again until spring/summer 2014.
  • Click HERE for more info and/or to sign up.

Seasonal Limited Edition Mini Sessions – More info will be released as dates get closer.

  • SEPTEMBER: School Portrait Mini Sessions – For students in Kindergarten through 12th grade. No session fee, 5 poses per student, proofs provided online for viewing/ordering.
  • OCTOBER: Fall Sessions (pending – not guaranteed)
  • NOVEMBER: Holiday Mini Sessions – For up to 5 people, session fee includes 25 holiday cards.
  • I will not be offering Tea Party or Halloween Mini Sessions this year. My schedule filled up too quickly with general sessions and family obligations.

Session Planners – Pregnancy/Newborn or Baby’s 1st Year

  • I am now accepting new session plan clients for 2014.
  • If you are currently pregnant and are due after February 1st and you would like to sign up for one of our session plans or schedule a pregnancy or newborn session, please call ASAP.
  • For Baby’s 1st Year plans, I can only take in baby’s who will turn 1 year by the end of March 31st, 2015. (Yes, 2015)
  • New Baby Plan coming soon which will include Newborn, 6 months & 1st Birthday Session only. This plan will be an addition to the plans we currently have available.

Baby Planner Graduate – 1st Birthday

Baby A has grown so fast! She has been one of my favorite clients this year. I know, I say everyone is my favorite! Baby A was on the “1st Kick to 1st Step” baby plan. We first started with mommy’s pregnancy session and then continued with her newborn session and saw her every 3 months until her 1st birthday! It’s been wonderful to watch her grow! I look back at her newborn portraits and can see how much she has changed. So beautiful!

We started off with a traditional Korean dress worn for 1st birthday celebrations. Isn’t it gorgeous?! I LOVE how bright & colorful it is! She wasn’t quite into it as much. It was a little big and she wasn’t too comfortable trying to walk. But she looked so cute! We then switched to a simple outfit for some mommy & daddy time. Another quick switch was into our brown romper that we have been photographing her in each time she came in. And then the fun part was balloons and cake. She loved her cake. Kara Telenga - These are just exquisite! I love seeing the traditional Korean dress on her, as one of my best friends is from Korea. That chalkboard graffiti type background is so fun, as is seeing her in the last pictures grow and change with the background staying the same.
