Pretty Dresses, Messy Cake – 1st Birthday

Last year, when baby “O” was born, she was scheduled to have her newborn session with me. But, I got into a little accident and severely injured my ankle, leaving me on crutches and unable to walk. I wasn’t even able to sit comfortably. I was so saddened that her session was one of the few that had to be canceled. But we were able to get her entire family in a few months later when I reopened. And mom quickly scheduled her 1st birthday session at the same time. This time around, it wasn’t me who had an ouchy. Baby “O” had got the chicken pox, but she healed up just in time for her session. We only postponed it by a few days. 🙂 She was happy as can be when she came in. A little nervous of heights (chairs), but she was quickly making her way all over with her speed-crawling! As always, I had lots of fun coming up with silly ways to get her attention. She didn’t want silly ol’ toys, she made me work to get those smiles! But I don’t mind! (I decided to make a few customizations for this session. Each set had something made by hand. I have done this a few times before and have decided that I will continue to create these small little handmade touches to give each session an extra unique look and feel. What do you think?)

2014 Calendar Info

I know what you are thinking, “What? 2014!?” We are not even halfway through with 2013!” But, yes, it’s time to talk about 2014. Just a little bit…

I have been getting a lot of inquiries for sessions and unfortunately I am completely booked through out the remainder of the year. My schedule fills up so quickly for 2 reasons:

1. I only take in a limited amount of clients per month. Why? I am a full time mom, and my business is currently part time.

2. Most clients call me at least 2-4 months ahead of time to schedule due to my limited space.

Currently, I do have clients already scheduled for sessions in 2014. **BUT** I have decided to CLOSE the 2014 scheduling calendar for now. I will reopen it in later this year (in the fall) to give everyone a chance to schedule within a few weeks notice (currently, it’s a few months).

I hope this gives everyone (new and returning clients) an equal opportunity to call in and schedule an appointment without having to wait months in advance. Because we are a military town, we have personnel arriving all the time. So, I want to give them a chance to get in for sessions as well.

4th of July Mini Sessions

This was my first year offering a 4th of July Mini Session special. It was planned rather quickly and I am so happy with the results. We had a nice variety of ages and pets! Everyone was great, and all the sessions went smoothly! I had so much fun with everyone, I think I will definitely be doing these again next year!

Mom, Dad & Three Little Princesses – Family Session

In the last month we have had some sunny weekends here on the island in which clients have been taking advantage of for their sessions! Once again, we were outside! We headed down south of Whidbey Island over to Greenbank for this family session. We had clear blue skies but a little bit of wind. So, we were sure to walk in the sun now and then to get the girls warmed up. They all did so well, making this session quick, easy & done in an hour. Fun with Pups – Family Session

Ok, so they are a little older than puppies, they are more in the “toddler” stage. But still young and full of energy. We headed out to the waterfront and they were a little chilly and nervous but did so well. I was honored to be chosen by Jennifer (of Jennifer Voigt Photography, wedding photographer also located here in Oak Harbor, WA) for these family portraits. We kept it quick for the little ones since it was a bit windy and the littlest one had quite a shiver. Once we finished their portraits, we let them stay warm in their car while we continued with just “mom & dad”. We were able to capture that natural golden glow from the sun setting toward the end of the session. It was a gorgeous evening! Thank you again for choosing me!
