I’ve been photographing this family since the eldest was in her mommy’s tummy. I see them every year and the session is always silly but very quick. Older sister A and brother H always come in ready to begin without a fuss or wanting to run and play too much. Like I said, their session are usually quick. But then came the youngest one, little C (I’m giggling inside as I write this). Mom and I have been friends for years so she came in and said, “Oh, she is my crazy one.” and I knew exactly what she meant.
C was a bundle of energy, curiosity and busyness. She is also a daring and brave little one. That dress didn’t stop her from climbing and twisting and turning. Mom stayed cool and collective while C’s daring feats almost gave me a heart attack one after another. I always have parents “spot” their kids and not take their eyes off them… usually it’s for the parents comfort so they know their child is safe with them right there. This time, mom did the spotting for me, so I knew her little girl was safe.
We were not sure if she would be willing to sit and lay long enough to get a few images with her siblings. It took some major silly faces, noises and other distractions to keep her in one position long enough. But we did it! SCORE!!
Then she was back to her self, on-the-go! I laugh now, but I was so nervous as she climbed, jumped, and what seemed like diving head-first toward the floor. But she left without a scratch or bruise. She was hyped up on sugar and happy as can be from beginning to end. That’s what matters! Happy baby, happy siblings and happy mom. Oh, and happy photographer too. 🙂
