I’ve been closed for a few months now and have been enjoying the break. At the end of August my husband returned from deployment and my youngest son completed 3 weeks of summer school. The same night school ended, we were packed up and then slept for only about 3 hours that night. We woke up early (1 am) to head out to the airport. It was the moment my kids had been waiting for all summer – time to go to California and visit family. There’s a whole lot to share about all the fun we had, but that will be shared on another post.
While we were there, my niece “S” celebrated her first birthday. In fact, her birthday party was the first big get-together during our trip. It was the very next day after we landed. It was a lot of fun… great food, great cake and cupcakes plus great conversations and catching up with friends and family. Again, will share more on that later.
My other niece (birthday girl’s sister) had bought “S” this little romper for her birthday. As soon as I saw it come out of the bag, in my head I said “‘First birthday pictures’ outfit right there!” Later on we talked about setting up a day for it and sure enough, I recommended that outfit (You know me, I love bright colors!). Of course, she used it. Woo hoo!
All we had was a blanket, a cake and a green backyard. It was sunny and HOT that day and although you can’t see it, we had a huge umbrella over little “S”. I think the session lasted about 45 minutes. I never got to time it. By the end, I was soaked in sweat and she was on a sugar high. My sister (her mom) had cake in her hair and on her clothes. I guess I forgot to mention that she would get dirty when we first set it up. But I did tell her what to expect right before we began. Hee hee 😀
As always, I had a tough time choosing just a “few” to show. I have too many favorites. But here’s quite a bit for you to enjoy. To see one more image from this session, click HERE to view it on my Facebook page.
