To make it worse, I was unable to back up files before I left in June. My stress level went through the roof. I honestly cried as I began to write down a script of what I would say to you all if I had lost all of your images. Ugh.. my heart has been so heavy.
As we waited for news on the other computer, we began to set up the new computer. And to my dismay, software was not working correctly. Most importantly, my calibration hardware was not working. Why is this important? Because it keeps all of you from being the wrong tones in your portraits. No orange or blue people allowed here. So even though I had the computer set up and ready to work, colors are looking all wrong to me.
And then I heard great news! My old computer is okie dokie! A graphics card needed to be removed and it’s running smoothly! Yay! NOTHING LOST! (Thank you God) So, I took off to Seattle, picked it up and got it home. It took two days to get everything transferred the new computer. And it’s all backed up!
Meanwhile, I sent back my calibration hardware to get replaced. I am waiting for the company’s response. Yep, still waiting. I am still stuck here… without being able to process images. I am getting more behind by the day. I am trying not to stress out. I know a lot of you are being so understanding and patient. But for me, this is like a slow death. I cannot stand it. I have things to do and having these computer issues is not cool. I do not like this at all.
I ask you to please, please, please bear with me as I get through this. This is not fun for me either. I hate having images here waiting for me to work on them. I hate knowing I have the time and but not the equipment to get it done. And it’s only ONE THING, just ONE THING. Ahhh! It’s like a forced vacation, but gets more frustrating as the days go by.
Once again, THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! Thank you for continuously encouraging and praying for me and these computer issues. THANK YOU for being so awesome and not turning your backs at me nor toilet-papering my house at night. As soon as this calibration stuff is fixed, I will be off and running again. I promise to work as quickly as I can to catch up and get your portraits out to you.
I’m so sorry about this inconvenience. But on the bright side, I have a NEW computer that is super awesome and everything is backed up hourly like it used to be. No more of this craziness after this is settled (knock on wood, crossing fingers.. etc).
(I included a picture taken in the spring. I edited before all this happened, so it should look good on your end even though it looks wonky on mine)
